Design features of the kitchen such as the colour scheme, island position and hidden elements were meticulously considered. “The colours chosen for the kitchen became a concept for the whole house, from the external appearance to the internal decoration, the theme was always going to include tones of grey, with the colour of my dog Sammy being the main inspiration,” Ben explained. “People often say that our dog is camouflaged in this house,” he jokes.
With the dark grey base throughout the home, it was important to use a complementing shade which would stand out as a vibrant contrast. A rich red was the perfect candidate, exhibited by the large glass splash back and seating in the dining area. You will also notice flashes of red throughout the home in exuberant wallpapers and furniture, maintaining a beautiful consistency.
In order to give justice to the large open plan space, Ben understood that a highly professional designer was required, which he found at Nicholas Anthony claiming that “Our designer, Simon had as much enthusiasm as I did when it came to the design and installation of the interiors.” With such a large area, features such as the position of the island are extremely important.
