At Nicholas Anthony, every design begins with a vision – a commitment to create spaces that inspire, delight, and endure. These awards are a celebration of that vision and a reminder that with passion and perseverance, excellence is always within reach.
Design Director, Niko Rasides, shared his thoughts on the achievement: “While we don’t create with awards in mind, being recognised by such esteemed industry bodies is truly an honour. These accolades serve as a trusted benchmark for clients seeking the very best in design. The projects that earned awards at this year’s International Property Awards were testament to the collaborative vision between our team and our clients. Together, we created spaces that transcend mere functionality, showcasing how thoughtful design can elevate everyday living. It’s incredibly rewarding to see that vision celebrated on a global stage.”
Designing a kitchen where creativity thrives:
The Oxshott Kitchen on The Crown Estate
Nestled within the prestigious Crown Estate in Oxshott, this kitchen was designed to be far more than a culinary space—it’s a reflection of the homeowners’ passions, creativity, and lifestyle. Referred to by its owners as their “dream kitchen,” it masterfully blends 1930s glamour and vintage American charm with the demands of modern living. The result is a space that not only stands as a design triumph but also serves as the cohesive heart of the home, connecting its diverse stylistic elements.

Transforming a blank canvas into a dream space
The project began with a previously underutilised area, offering a blank slate for bold innovation. The aim was to seamlessly integrate the kitchen with the adjacent family and formal rooms, creating an elegant flow between spaces adorned with Art Deco antiques, iconic movie posters, and captivating artwork.
At the heart of the kitchen lies a generously sized island, seating up to six people. Wrapped in fluted walnut and topped with Bianca Eclipsia quartzite, the island is both a design centrepiece and a functional masterpiece. Its every detail, from its unique carved edge to the precision placement of drawers, was meticulously crafted to balance aesthetic appeal with everyday practicality.
An integrated breakfast bar further enhances the space’s versatility, inviting informal gatherings and creating a hub for family life, where meals are shared, conversations flow, and creativity thrives.
Lighting, materials, and functionality in harmony
To make the kitchen as adaptable as it is beautiful, a dynamic lighting system was introduced, capable of transforming the atmosphere from bright and energising to warm and intimate. Natural materials, including limestone flooring, book-matched quartzite worktops, and polished nickel and glass shelving, lend a sense of timeless elegance while offering functionality. These elements ensure the space feels grounded, serene, and visually stunning.
Highly engineered cabinetry maximises storage while maintaining a sleek, uncluttered look. The layout accommodates an impressive array of appliances—two dishwashers, a large built-in fridge, a large freezer, a drinks fridge, a glass-front wine fridge, an Insinkerator food disposal unit, three ovens and a culinary drawer—all seamlessly integrated into the design.
Personal touches and artistic flourishes
The homeowners’ love for art and design shines through in every corner of the kitchen. From original 1930s teal and copper vases to Art Deco sculptures and Tamara de Lempicka prints, the space celebrates a rich aesthetic heritage while embracing contemporary living. These personal touches ensure the kitchen feels as unique and vibrant as the family who uses it.
A space that inspires
One of the homeowners shared their delight: “I am really loving the new kitchen, and the Bora grill pan is fantastic to work with! Everything is so well-planned and organized—it’s an absolute pleasure to cook and entertain here. The layout makes it easy to cook, serve, and be social, even with extra guests. I find myself working on my laptop in the kitchen all the time; I even have a ‘desk drawer’! It’s definitely the most used room in the house.”
This kitchen exemplifies how thoughtful design can elevate daily living. It’s not just a place to cook—it’s a space to create, connect, and be inspired, embodying the true essence of a home.
Creating a bathroom where nature meets cutting-edge design:
The Lexden property
Nestled on a serene private drive in Lexden, near the historic town of Colchester, this contemporary home reimagines bathroom design as a sanctuary where modern luxury and nature coexist in perfect harmony. The homeowners, deeply inspired by the surrounding landscapes, envisioned a pair of his and hers bathrooms that seamlessly blend the tranquillity of natural materials with the sophistication of cutting-edge design.
A symphony of natural beauty and modern craftsmanship
As part of an extensive refurbishment, these bathrooms were crafted to mirror one another while maintaining distinct characteristics. The result is a pair of spaces that exemplify Nicholas Anthony’s dedication to balancing organic elegance with innovative functionality.
At the heart of the design lies an artful use of robust materials, including book-matched marble, black brassware, and bespoke features such as walk-in showers and towel radiators. Glass-fronted cabinets, ribbed detailing, and the subtle concealment of functional elements create a sense of effortless luxury, while strategically placed mirrors and lighting amplify the interplay of texture and light.
Marble as a masterpiece
The transformative use of Calacatta Corchia marble is a true showpiece of these bathrooms. Hand-selected for its striking veining, the marble was meticulously planned to achieve a cohesive design that feels like a work of art. Each piece was carefully positioned, with the veins flowing seamlessly around corners and through the shower alcove, creating a visual connection that elevates the entire space. This thoughtful approach also ensured efficient use of the material, making sustainability a cornerstone of the design.
The client’s perspective
The homeowners shared their enthusiasm for the finished spaces: “Our biggest wish was to achieve an impressive book-matched marble feature, and the result exceeded our expectations. The way the offcuts were thoughtfully utilised to extend the veining was incredibly clever, creating an extraordinary visual impact. The design feels cohesive yet minimalist, with diverse textures and innovative lighting adding depth and interest. It’s practical, serene, and stunning – everything we hoped for.”
Design beyond function
These bathrooms reflect the essence of Nicholas Anthony’s philosophy: creating spaces that resonate with beauty, practicality, and timeless elegance. By weaving together the raw allure of natural materials with contemporary precision, the Lexden bathrooms offer more than just functionality—they provide an immersive experience, redefining what it means to design for modern wellbeing.
