Secured away in the beautiful Essex Countryside, Sunnedon House was built in 1870 in the historic village of Coggeshall near Colchester. Miss Barham searched far and wide to find her dream property that had character as well as the potential to build a cookery school within its grounds. After the dream house was found, Miss Barham contacted Westbury Garden Rooms to create a room fit for her cookery school purpose.
Once the bare bones of the project had been finalised and designed by Westbury Garden Rooms, they recommended Nicholas Anthony’s services to Miss Barham to design, supply and fit her dream cookery school. The brief was simple: a light, airy space that could accommodate a small cookery class on a daily basis.
One of our esteemed and experienced designers, Carissa, grabbed this opportunity with both hands to transform Miss Barham’s dreams into reality. Carissa has expertly designed a contemporary, yet traditional feel to the space using an eye catching, tiled splash back alongside established cabinetry. The use of a large chrome-finished refrigerator helps enhance the professional look for this space which would augment her cookery school look.
A full-sized professional Siemens double oven range alongside two separate induction hobs gives this room the perfect appliances to begin her cookery school aspirations. Splitting this room is a contemporary island and breakfast bar which provides sufficient space for her dinner guests as well as her cookery school pupils. Finished with a traditional swan-neck tap, this kitchen space provides the correct level of contemporary modern appliances and fixings as well as keeping within the long-established feel of the property and the Coggeshall area.
